Welcome to 180 Degrees Consulting at the University of Michigan! Whether you are potential client interested in our services or a student interested in joining our organization, I want to thank you for visiting our site!

As a consulting organization that works with social enterprises, nonprofits, and socially-minded for-profits, our single greatest asset is our people. Although many of us have different career aspirations, academic backgrounds, and diverse life experiences, we were all ultimately driven to 180 Degrees Consulting for the same underlying reasons.

As a consultant for 180 Degrees Consulting, you are given the opportunity to consult for some of the most forward-thinking and impactful organizations around both the country and the world. Although our clients have different goals, all of our projects aim to accomplish the same thing: helping them to overcome their most pressing challenges in an innovative, practical, and sustainable manner. As our client’s require a multitude of different services, such as top-line strategy, operations optimization, financial analysis, and assistance with expansion, we provide our consultants with rigorous training that prepares them for any project a client might bring to us.

In addition to gaining valuable real-world consulting experience, we provide our members with valuable professional development mentorship to aid in recruitment and professional life in general.  Some of these services include resume workshops, interview preparation, career guidance, application assistance, and cover letter workshops. More importantly though, we provide an invaluable and diverse network of current and past members who have worked in a variety of industries and roles.

Although we do not have an exact profile that we look for in prospective consultants, all of our members share similar qualities, including intellectual curiosity, a desire to solve complex problems and create meaningful impact, and above all, a commitment to the organization and our mission.

My involvement with 180 Degrees Consulting has been one of the most valuable experiences during my time at Michigan. If you are a student, no matter what you hope to accomplish during your time here or in life, I encourage you to start the application process and learn more about 180 Degrees Consulting from our information sessions, current members, or our website. If you are a potential client, I encourage you to reach out to our Director of Partnerships, Philip Ruffini at pruffini@umich.edu

Thank you and we look forward to meeting you!
